Mines
The Mineral King Mine near Invermere, BC was rediscovered about 3 years ago by Anymouse and Fyrefreak, using 50 year old information from federal archives. Only 1/12th of the underground workings have been explored to date. MineCon '07 will be a multi-day group expedition into the lower levels of the mine to explore new tunnels and massive ore chambers.

Are mines in the remote mountains Urban Exploration? You bet! They were carved by humans, in search of ore to build our cities and war machines. Men spent their entire careers underground in these workings, resulting in caverns that honeycomb the earth like scenes from a Tolkein novel.
The caverns are enormous. Megatons of ore have been removed from the mountain making rooms hundreds of feet tall. Shafts running as much as 500 meters deep pierce the solid rock to depths unimagined in any city. This is perhaps the deepest any Urban Explorer has been.
